Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to have the opportunity to hold our 3rd MATSim Tutorial and User Meeting. It will take place in Berlin during spring 2011. To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between MATSim users and MATSim developers we would like to invite you to participate at the seminar, to be held from April 4 to April 8, 2011 at the Berlin Institue of Technology (Technische Universität Berlin). The seminar will consist of two parts:
1. The MATSim tutorial from Monday morning April 4th to Wednesday April 6th lunch (2.5 days)
For the tutorial part we will have lectures and demonstrations in the morning given by MATSim developers from Berlin and Zurich. In the afternoon we will offer tutorials on how to use MATSim for newcomers as well as for advanced users. This will include elements such as
2. The MATSim user meeting from Wednesday April 6th lunch to Friday April 8th lunch (2 days)
As last year the user meeting is an opportunity to present current projects and applications of MATSim. If
you would like to present, please submit a short abstract (max. 300 words) to us by January 31, 2011.

The location of the seminar will be at the TU Berlin main building, Str. d. 17. Juni 135, 10623 Berlin, in room H2036.
A number of travel grants will be available for the MATSim User Meeting, using the following structure:
The number of available grants will depend on the mix of the requests. Participants from remote countries will be preferred. To apply for a travel grant please register by January 24, 2011, with matsim.meeting@vsp.tu-berlin.de by providing your name, affiliation, abstract and home country. You will be provided with payment information not later than January 31, 2011.
Participants can separately register for the tutorial part and the user meeting part. Registration fees are:

100Eu for students studying for a Diploma or BSc/MSc degree
200Eu for other persons with a university affiliation
300Eu for others
2. User meeting:

Late and on‐site registration: 50Eu additional fee. Since we have limited capacities, we encourage all participants to make use of the early registration.
The registration fee includes morning and afternoon coffee breaks. The registration fee for the tutorial includes lunches on monday, tuesday, and wednesday, and a dinner on tuesday. The registration fee for the user meeting includes lunches on wednesday, thursday, and friday, and a dinner on thursday.
